LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony vote for each other for NBA All-Star game in Toronto
They don't only vacation together, they vote for each other in the NBA All-Star balloting.
Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul cast Twitter votes for their teammates but also for each other Monday for next month's NBA All-Star Game in Toronto 2016.
"Friends, man," Anthony said. "That's what friends are for."
Anthony said they didn't talk about it or text each other to do it. He said they saw one do it and it just "trickled down" among the four who vacationed together over the summer.
James was the first, voting for Cleveland teammates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love and then his close circle of friends. Then Wade and Paul followed and then Anthony. He also voted Kristaps Porzingis with the hashtag "Knickstothe6".
"Of course," Anthony said. "He should be up there. He should be getting some votes. I would love to be with him in Toronto. Just for him to have that experience - why not?"
Anthony believes Porzingis is a future All-Star.
"For sure," Anthony said. "He's going to be here for a long time. He'll be there."
Anthony was fourth among frontcourt players in the first returns of the balloting. But this could help him jump over Detroit's Andre Drummond into third. The top three start. Porzingis was eighth, but he's a lock to play in the Rookie-Sophomore Game during All-Star Weekend.
